Mrs. Vigil Born and raised in Fort Collins Parents taught in PSD for 30 years Bachelors Degree from the University of Northern Colorado Masters Degree from Colorado Christian University ELL Partial Endorsement This is my18th year of teaching Married to Erik Vigil 3 step children, Noah is 17, Mikaela is 13, and Shiloh is 9 and I have a 19 month old baby girl named Tinsley

Student Handbook Highlights Attendance Line 24/7-488.4301 jbrase@psdschools. org School Calendar Birthday policy Bus Passes Homework policy- 48-hour notice Student Handbook Absences and Attendance line- it is available 24/7 There will no longer be perfect attendance certificates.  School Calendar Bus passes- send a note or call the front office if there is a change in bus plans Birthday – Happy b-day let’s move! Dress Code (no spaghetti straps, exposed midriffs or inappropriate language on shirts) Homework policy- for absences please give me at least 48 hours notice for makeup work.

We will not have technology days Phones in backpacks- turned off NO Toys brought to school! Park if you want to get out of your car. do not use back lot. Personal property- gist- don’t bring anything- cellphones aren’t allowed out of backpacks- there will be no access to wifi, NO toys!! Tech policy—children are responsible for their own tech equipment. Cell phones are in backpacks and turned off. No toys at school- need headphones for tech class- any kind is fine!

Before and After School Please visit the playground from 8:15-8:30am Flags flying on inclement weather days on playground means go inside Breakfast begins at 8:15 enter through “Recess Doors” in lunchroom. Tardy passes begin at 8:35 KBOB starts at 8:38 am Walk bikes on campus All doors are locked for safety. You MUST check in with the front office prior to entering my classroom. I will not answer the door unless you have a Bethke visitor badge. Lunchroom-Begins at 12:20 Microwaves are for grades 4 and 5. Blue Stamp means only 1 more lunch available. Microwaves are for grades 4 and 5. Please limit lunch visits because the lunchroom is full. Hallways will not be available for eating lunch. Lunch Room—blue stamp means one lunch left on $. Microwaves are for 4 and 5 grade. Limit lunch visits…lunch room is FULL! Please don’t eat in the hallways.

Expectations are held high to promote motivation and responsibility, and most importantly we have fun while we work so hard!

Volunteering in the Classroom There are still a few spots open! Sign-up is on table. Many opportunities in the classroom Register with the district before participating Specific dates signup will come out soon! Expect the first calendar at the end of September or beginning of October Volunteers- Sign up if still interested. I am flexible- still deciding how to communicate offerings

Folders-Third Grade information Left Side of Folder: Literacy Adoption Pilot Letter Cursive Handwriting Snack Expectations Grading Scale Scholastic Note Right Side of Folder RAM log Schedule Classroom management BOB- Light Curriculum Planner-initials each night Responsibility Recess enVision Family Letter and log in information Left Side Words their way explanation- spelling curriculum we follow- students will be tested and placed on a spelling list in their level- we have implemented this curriculum for several years now and you can really see a difference in spelling, writing, and reading! Cursive- letter form we teach Snack expectations- snack every day- please be allergy aware- here is a nice list of snacks! Grading Scale- still use esinu, you will SEE letter grades starting in second semester- but not on report cards- exposure for 4th grade. Scholastic Note- Will send home monthly- encourage you to order online, there is my code  Right Side RAM LOG- Their responsibility- please don’t fill it out for them- initial, sign, just so I can see you saw them reading  Schedule- subject to change but for the most part is very consistent Management- we use marbles, BOB bucks, Stoplight- start on green, yellow for homework, planner not signed, third grade comes with a HUGE responsibility lesson- Red is hardly ever visitied  Homework expectations- nightly, not meant to be a fight- have lessened the load since the past. Homework nightly- RAM- reading 100 mins/week/math 50 mins- don’t care how math is being done!!! Responsibility Recess- Spelling weekly-due Thursdays test on Thursdays, new words sent home Friday, Math due next day. Planner expectations- signed nightly- they ASK you!!! It’s THEIR responsibility! enVisionMath2.0- new math curriculum- lots of online components- show how to access- must know student’s login and password- they have this memorized by now  we use a million times per day

Prep for 4th grade Field Trips- ARDEC, in class visits, Little shop of physics Friday Folders – need to be returned on Monday Book buddies with kindgergarten Laptops

If 2 were provided I used both- please don’t email me during the day with an urgent message- over the course of the day sometimes I don’t get to sit down and check email until after school Parent Conferences – a chance to meet individually about your child- Sign up now if possible- I’ve sent the sign up= if you haven’t please do so now! I will close the sign-up September 8th by 4pm. ** On Trimesters- we will have a conference in October without a report card, Report Cards sent in November- NO conferences!
