Creating Time & Space to Study

How do you study? Write down what you do. Ask the students what they do to study.

Do you study like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMW3pOyeqHM Show the video on the link and ask students to answer the questions for video 1. Stop the video when it says FIN. Note she says crap several times. If this is an issue you may have to be ready to mute it at those points.

Have you ever studied like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8UcnJAHHpY Show the second video and ask the students answer the questions.

Refer to the word doc Creating a Timetable and answer the questions on the first page. Allow students time to read this

Note that the student in the second video said a timetable does not work for her, but unless you are a disciplined and self motivated person, like her, then you definitely need a timetable. Allow students time to read this

Finished page 1. Now go to page 2 read it and make your own timetable. Use the given times or go to page 3 of the Blank Timetable Word doc and make your own. Allow students time to fill in their timetable

Note your timetable may change from week to week, therefore make sure you have plenty of blanks so you can plan for the next week.

Finished page 2 – now go to page 3 and read her notes on Study Tips and Learning Styles. Check it out it as it is good to know what your strong learning style(s) are and hence the learning styles that you need to work on because not everyone is going to teach to your preferred learning style.
