Curriculum Third Graders will study: Language Arts Math Wind and the Willows Mulltiplication (facts through 10) Animal Classification Division Rome Fractions Astronomy 3 Digit Addition/Subtraction European Explorers Geometry Ecology Science/Social Studies Government Rocks/Earth’s Layers Economics Community Building Holidays Curriculum

Behavioral Expectations Third Graders are expected to: follow directions promptly respect others accept constructive feedback from adults and peers attend and persevere to task at hand demonstrate common courtesy (please/thank you/ I’m apologize/excuse me) use essential life skills (blow nose/wash hands/tie shoes/recite address and phone number Behavioral Expectations

Homework The work for the month is sent at the beginning of each month, inside their binders however it is still checked daily. The entire packet will be collected at the end of the month. A homework grade is included on the quarterly progress report. Homework will contain both math and language arts components. Individual teachers may add/delete assignments to suit the needs of the individuals in their class. A student-created project may be included on occasion. Homework

Nuts and Bolts General information Communication Please return all forms promptly. Ensure all addresses and phone numbers are current. For emergency purposes, it is essential that you notify both the office and your third grader’s teacher immediately of any changes. Communication Email is the primary method of communication between school and home. Therefore, please send an email to your third’s teacher. This will enable you to receive communication regarding newsletters, sign-up genius for parties and parent conferences, as well as classroom updates. Nuts and Bolts

Every instructional minute is valuable. Attendance Information Students are permitted on campus at 7:15 a.m. Students are considered tardy when they arrive after 7:40 a.m. Dismissal times Students are dismissed MTThF at 2:35. Wednesday dismissal time is 12:35. Please be on time. Please notify the office (note, email, or phone call) of any changes to the dismissal plan. Every instructional minute is valuable. Attendance
