1 Kings 21
1 Kings 21 NOT FOR SALE (vs 1-4) ABUSE OF POWER (vs 5-16) JUDGEMENT AND MERCY (vs 17-29)
NOT FOR SALE- THE LORD FORBID Leviticus 25 23 ‘“The land must not be sold permanently, because the land is mine and you reside in my land as foreigners and strangers. 24 Throughout the land that you hold as a possession, you must provide for the redemption of the land. 25 ‘“If one of your fellow Israelites becomes poor and sells some of their property, their nearest relative is to come and redeem what they have sold. 26 If, however, there is no one to redeem it for them but later on they prosper and acquire sufficient means to redeem it themselves, 27 they are to determine the value for the years since they sold it and refund the balance to the one to whom they sold it; they can then go back to their own property. 28 But if they do not acquire the means to repay, what was sold will remain in the possession of the buyer until the Year of Jubilee. It will be returned in the Jubilee, and they can then go back to their property.

1 Kings 21 NOT FOR SALE (vs 1-4) ABUSE OF POWER (vs 5-16) JUDGEMENT AND MERCY (vs 17-29)
ABUSE OF POWER- ISAIAH 58 ‘Yet on the day of your fasting, you do as you please and exploit all your workers. 6 ‘Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? 7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter – when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
1 Kings 21 NOT FOR SALE (vs 1-4) ABUSE OF POWER (vs 5-16) JUDGEMENT AND MERCY (vs 17-29)
JUDGEMENT AND MERCY God is just: he will pay back trouble to those who trouble you 7 and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. 8 He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might 10 on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marvelled at among all those who have believed.
