Amigos Brothers- Your check for understanding! *= Abbreviated Version *How do you think Felix and Antonio feel about the opportunity to fight in the Championship together? What in the text suggest this? What contrasts and contradictions can you make about Felix and Antonio? Use the text to support your inferences. (I think Felix...because in the text…) *How does Felix and Antonio deal with their man vs. man internal conflicts? Use the text to support your thinking. *How does author’s use of sensory language impact the plot? Provide an example from the text that reveals this information. How do the secondary characters like the trainers impact the climax? *How do the characters’ motives change during the falling action of the story? *What BIG IDEAS can the reader take away from the story? Write a Thematic Statement revealing the message that the author intends for the reader to “take away” from the story?

Answers I think they feel uncomfortable because it says, “Man, I don’t know how to come out with it. It’s about our fight right?” I think Felix and Antonio felt like they were betraying each other when they found out about fighting each other because it says, “But even when joking with each other, they both sensed a wall rising between them.” I think they feel worried because it say in the text, “Lets stop for a while bro.I think we both got something to say to eachother.”
