The Weight of Glory Every Christian should feel the heavy weight of helping others obtain eternal glory.
The Weight of Glory The saved are promised a glorious eternity It has been God’s plan since before the beginning (Romans 9:23; 1 Corinthians 2:7-8) It is why Christ suffered and died. (Hebrews 2:10) And we are willing to suffer as He did in order to obtain it. (Romans 8:16-17; 2 Corinthians 4:17-18; 1 Peter 5:1)
The Weight of Glory Eternal glory will be multifaceted We ourselves will be gloriously transformed (2 Corinthians 3:18; 1 John 3:2; Philippians 3:20-21) We will each be uniquely glorious (1 Corinthians 15:40-43) We will be acknowledged by God (1 Corinthians 8:3; Matthew 7:23; 10:32-33)
The Weight of Glory The weight of your glory on me We should be deeply concerned with the eternal glory of one another The apostle Paul felt this concern for his countrymen (Romans 9:1-3) He was willing to suffer so that fellow Christians might obtain eternal glory (Ephesians 3:13; 2 Timothy 2:10) The glory of others was his glory and joy (1 Thessalonians 2:19-20)
