Presentation transcript:

Corridors of migrant flows create interdependence between countries International migration is an important part of the globalisation process and it contributes significantly to social and economic interdependence between countries. For example, socio-economic interdependence occurs when economic migrants provide labour in a country and on return bring newly acquired skills, ideas and values to their home country. This aspect of globalisation has created advantages and disadvantages for many people and places, but others have been marginalised and experience the effects of inequality and injustice.

A case study of an EDC to illustrate: Current patterns of immigration and emigration. Changes in immigration and emigration over time. Economic, political, social and environmental independence with countries connected to the EDC by migrant flows.
