Who We Are The Junior Roller Derby Association (JRDA) is a public non-profit educational and amateur sports organization that is dedicated to advancing the growth of roller derby through the standardization of rules and goals for existing and new leagues.

What We Do JRDA partners with competitive & recreational junior leagues, communities & schools, mentors & families; to empower youth through the international sport of roller derby.

Our Mission The mission of JRDA is to nurture bold self-confidence in youth by developing teamwork and athletic ability while treasuring individuality within a culture of integration, encouragement, and service to others.

Regional Development The JRDA has 9 Regions in which it is assisting the growth of the sport of Junior Roller Derby.   JRDA Eastern Region: Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania JRDA Great Lakes Region:  Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin JRDA North Central Region:  Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming; Manitoba, Saskatchewan JRDA North East Region:  Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont; New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec JRDA North West Region:  Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Alaska, Hawaii; Alberta, British Columbia, Northern Territories JRDA South East Region:  D.C., Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia JRDA Southern Region:  Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee JRDA South Central Region:  Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas JRDA South West Region:  Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico In 2013, we have assisted in organizing regional tournaments, regional training camps, and our yearly Junior Roller Derby convention, JuniorCon (www.juniorcon.com). We saw exponential growth in Junior Roller Derby leagues and tripled our membership in 2013!

Why the JRDA Needs You!

Tournaments and Training Camps In 2014 and beyond, we would like to offer all 9 JRDA Regions tournament play in their respective regions, additional regional training camps, as well as offering a JRDA National tournament. With these goals and with your assistance, we can grow the future of roller derby through the next generation with quality training and competition.

Eight Wheels for Education College Scholarship In 2013, with the assistance of private donors, the JRDA was able to fund an Eight Wheels for Education College Scholarship. The JRDA would like to offer 10 scholarships. With this goal in mind, we can provide Junior Roller Derby skaters additional educational funding. With your assistance, we can make this a reality.

Self-Sustaining Regions The JRDA is run by volunteers, like most other roller derby organizations. With that in mind, the JRDA is looking to assist the regions in becoming self-sustaining. The goals for the regions are for each of the 9 regions to provide volunteers from each of its more established leagues to assist in regional growth, competition and training, and general roller derby education. With your assistance, we can provide much needed monetary assistance for these types of organizational events and educational resources.

JRDA’s Calendar of Events In order to educate the nation on what junior derby is and why it’s important to support the JRDA’s mission to grow the sport, we participate in a few large scale roller derby events. We would like to expand our reach and potentially partner with your organization at some of these events and do some joint panel sessions.
