Unidentified Flying Object UFO Unidentified Flying Object

Loch Ness Monster Loch Ness is a big lake in Scotland. Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster, was sighted as far back as the 6th century AD.

Yeti The Yeti has been called the ‘missing link’; half-man, half-beast. It is supposed to live in the highest mountain in the world-Mount Qumolangma.

The Great Pyramid The Great Pyramid of Khufu is one of the seven wonders of ancient world and the only one people can visit.

Stonehenge Being one of Britain’s greatest national icons (just like our Chinese Great Wall), it stands for mystery and power. Some people guess that it was a temple for worship. The reason it was built remains unknown even today.

Discussion1 What other unexplained things do you know about?

Bermuda triangle

One of the legends of the sea that has persisted even to today is the story of the Bermuda Triangle. Here ships and airplanes seem to disappear more often than in other parts of the ocean. Usually the craft are never seen again, which is not too surprising in an area noted for hurricanes and high waves. The Bermuda Triangle covers an area from the southern Virginia coast to Bermuda to the Bahama Islands

The continent of Antarctica was discovered in 1818 The continent of Antarctica was discovered in 1818. It was once supposed to have been covered by ice for hundreds of thousands of years. However, in 1949 scientists discovered that great rivers had once flowed into Antarctica until about 6,000years ago. Many more mysteries remain to be discovered.

Easter Island is over 2,000 miles from the nearest population center, (Tahiti and Chile), making it one of the most isolated places on Earth. A triangle of volcanic rock in the South Pacific - it is best known for the giant stone monoliths(巨型独石), known as Moai. Admiral Roggeveen, who came upon the island on Easter Day in 1722, named it Easter Island.

Discussion2 If you saw a alien some day, what would you do?
