What it Means to Be A Christian The Christian is… A Farmer

The Parable of the Sower Not all will accept the gospel being sown Matt. 13:1-9, 18-23 The Parable of the Sower Not all will accept the gospel being sown But we need to broadcast the seed anyway

The hardworking farmer Endurance, diligent effort 2 Timothy 2:6 The hardworking farmer Endurance, diligent effort He is first to partake of produce - Experience teaching - Patience (Jas. 5:7-8) - Stronger in faith

We need to sow the seed and leave the results to God. 1 Corinthians 3:5-9 Planting and watering We need to sow the seed and leave the results to God. Mark 4:26-27 Planted seed reaches maturity

The fields are white to harvest John 4:34-38 The fields are white to harvest You never know where or who is ripe for harvest We don’t know the condition of hearts until we try

Every plant God has not planted will be uprooted Matthew 15:13-14 Every plant God has not planted will be uprooted The only seed we need to sow is God’s word! Both in our hearts and in others Matthew 13:41 1 Cor. 2:1-2

A rule that doesn’t just apply to teaching others! Galatians 6:9 You reap what you sow A rule that doesn’t just apply to teaching others! Prov. 22:8 Prov. 11:18 James 3:18

We reap in proportion to how much we sow 2 Corinthians 9:6 He who sows sparingly… We reap in proportion to how much we sow cf. Matt. 25:14-30 Matt. 10:42

We are branches in Christ John 15:1-8 We are branches in Christ We must produce fruit or we will be cut off (we are accountable)

Harvest is coming – Matt. 13:24-30, 39 We will give account – Rom. 14:10-12 John 5:28-29

When that day comes – What “fruit” will we present to Him?
