Contributions of the United States WORLD WAR I Contributions of the United States

What were the contributions of the U.S. to World War I? Massive propaganda campaign - Gain troops -Raise money Rationing -Victory Gardens: planting extra food to send to troops -Conserving fuel on the home front, so it can be used for troops

THE POWER OF PERSUASION! What is Propaganda? Propaganda is a form of communication aimed toward influencing the attitude of a group of people toward a specific cause or belief. Often leaves out important facts or only offers limited information to the audience. THE POWER OF PERSUASION!

The U.S. Needed Troops Quickly! Massive Recruiting Campaign using Propaganda. Soldiers were drafted and recruited.

The U.S. Needed Money Quickly! Massive Campaign to Raise Money to Support the War!

Rationing=Allowing Only a Certain Amount Ration Books were given to Americans for certain products.

Rationing Food Victory Gardens-growing more to send to troops

Rationing Fuel Conserving heat, gas, and coal usage.

Don’t forget the contributions of these two very important groups… African Americans fought bravely in WWI and worked in factories building weapons, ammunition, and other needs of the country Women took over many of the jobs of men- they worked in factories, made weapons, repaired cars, delivered mail, and directed traffic.

These same strategies are used in WWII! See You Again in 1941!
