Contents Background of ABEMDA Activity areas Strategic development: goals and targets International Cooperation Projects

“Azalternativenerji” LLC Background of ABEMDA State Program on Use of Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources (October 24, 2004) State Agency on Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources under the Ministry of Industry and Energy was established (July 16, 2009) State Company on Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources (June 1, 2012) “Azalternativenerji” LLC (February 1, 2013) State Agency on Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources (February 1, 2013)

State Agency Is the central executive body carrying out followings in the field of RES and EE: State policy and regulation; Efficient organization of activity and liaison; State control.

Activity Areas Formation of state policy and implementation; Creation of infrastructure; Implementation of alternative and renewable energy in economic sectors; Efficient use of energy; State registration and cadastre; Activity on setting up standards.

State Strategy on Use of Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources in the Republic of Azerbaijan (2012-2020) The main courses on electric and thermal power production; Legal framework ; Promotional measures; Introduce alternative and renewable energy sources in economic sectors.

Goals and targets of strategic development of the area Determination of RES and cadastre; Legal framework; Tariff policy; Promotional measures and discounts; Formation of state innovation policy; Capacity building, education and scientific research.

The impacts of the strategic development Expected the often use of terms such as “green jobs”, “green production”, “green products” in society; The strategy is a long term process. Therefore, the impacts can be measured at each stage of the process; Creation of new jobs.

Improvement of legislation framework Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on “Use of Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources” The adoption of legislative acts on: - license and special permission; - state cadastre and registration; - subsidy and discounts; - tariffs and etc.

Tariff policy and promotional measures Feed-in tariffs and energy contracts; Regulation of customs duties and value added tax; Attraction of suitable credit and investments; Connection of new generation capacities and related transmission infrastructure networks; Stimulation of the local production of equipment and machinery.
