Frogs are very loud Frogs need to live near water Frogs have high round eyes Frogs have a skinny body.
AMPHIBIANS & REPTILES ARE ADAPTED FOR LIFE ON LAND
Amphibians, Reptiles & Birds. Amphibia (frogs, salamanders, newts) The First vertebrates to colonize land Evolved from the Lobe-Finned Fish Have lungs.
Warm Up Match the following animals with their correct animal group: Animals: snake, squirrel, toad, eagle, rockfish Phylum: amphibian, bird, fish, mammal,
 Earliest known amphibians evolved from the lobe-finned fish 400 million years ago.  The lobe-finned fish had strong fins the eventually turned into.
Amphibians. Characteristics Amphibians are frogs, salamanders, and caecilian. Amphibians vary greatly but have a few common traits. Amphibians have moist.

Characteristics Cold blooded Vertebrates (have a spine) They have a 3 chambered heart Camouflage with their surroundings Breathe through their skin Change body temperature when their surroundings change temperature Have amniotic eggs (shell-less eggs) Are both aquatic and terrestrial

Reproduction Amphibians reproduce both internally and externally.A male and a female reproduce sexually. Amphibians lay their eggs in bodies of water. However, amphibians such as the red eye tree frog do not lay eggs in bodies of water.Instead they lay them in gelatin on the bottom of a leaf that hangs above water.Water is a necessity for amphibians because they depend on water for their eggs, even if they are not laid in a body of water.

Energy Amphibians eat things such as: Worms Spiders Berries Crustaceans Some frogs even eat other frogs.

Predators Amphibians are eaten by animals such as: Hawks -Eat frogs Opossums-Eat salamanders Shrews-Eat salamanders Snakes -Eat frogs Herons-Eat frogs

Effect On the Environment Amphibians are an important part of their environment. They are a crucial part of their environment because they keep the insect population in check. Not only do they do that, but they also provide food for others.Frogs, newts, and salamanders are all food for the other animals in the environment. Poisonous frogs may not eat bigger predators, but they can kill them. The poison in the frogs can also be used for hunting animals, another way amphibians affect their environment.

All The Amphibians FROGS- absorb water through their skin so they don’t have to drink. They can lay as much as 4,200 eggs. They don’t live in sea or salt water They have eyes and a nose so they can breathe and see it’s surrounding. TOADS- Need moisture to stay alive, but some even live in the desert, They’re born in wetlands. They have burrows so they can keep out from drying Salamanders- some salamanders are poisonous and some even have teeth. Salamanders tongue to 10 times long their body NEWTS-

Amphibians Habitat Toads, frogs, newts, and salamanders live in semi-aquatic areas. Most amphibians live moist areas. When the temperature of an amphibians surroundings changes so does the temperature of the amphibian. Some amphibians can be territorial and protect their surroundings when provoked.
