Objective: SWBAT recognize the importance of Triangular Trade Objective: SWBAT recognize the importance of Triangular Trade. (answer these on a separate piece of paper, be prepared to staple this to your notes.) 1. What was the Columbian Exchange? 2. What areas did the French explore?

Think to yourself for about 30 seconds… Why were Africans sent to the Americas? How did they get there? Who benefited?

Draw it on your calisthenics paper! What should they do? Taylor has two pencils, but really wants an eraser. Kyla has two erasers, but really wants a pencil. What should they do? Kyla Taylor

Triangular Trade "Triangular Trade” was a pattern of trade between Europe, Africa, and the Americas. Europe Americas Africa

From Europe to Africa Europeans traded manufactured goods like cloth, rum, and weapons to Africa.

From Africa to the Americas Africans sold gold and people to Europeans. The African people were shipped to the Americas where they were used as slaves.

Slaves in America In the Americas, slaves grew sugar and tobacco. Slaves also mined for gold and silver in the Americas.

From the Americas to Europe The sugar, tobacco, gold, and silver produced by slaves in the Americas was shipped to Europe.

Move on to the Practice Take the next few minutes to move on to the “Practice” part of your notes, #1-5 Then use the map in the Power Point to label the one in your notes with each continent and the goods being traded in the Triangular Trade. Lastly, move on to the “Think” Questions! Answer all 3.
