High School Registration Selecting 9th Grade Courses

HS Schedule 8 classes per year 4 x 4 A day / B day 24 credits needed to graduate with a diploma

PowerSchool Click on the CLASS REGISTRATION icon. Follow the directions carefully. Enter the core courses you were recommended for, as well as your electives and alternates. Please make sure your selections in PowerSchool match the selections you made on your registration card. Pick the number of classes told/allowed to select. (i.e. one (1) English class) The computer will not allow you to leave blanks unless you are told to do so. When done click the SUBMIT button. If you have completed everything correctly, it will accept your requests. If you left something blank, it will not save correctly and you will need to review your selections.

English Foundations of English & English 1 English 1 Honors English 1 Level 1 or 2 on 8th grade EOG English 1 Level 3 on 8th grade EOG Honors English 1 Level 4 or 5 on 8th grade EOG

Math Foundations of NC Math 1 & NC Math 1 NC Math 1 NC Math 2 Level 1, 2, or 3 on 8th grade EOG NC Math 1 Level 4 or 5 on 8th grade EOG NC Math 2 Level 3 on NC Math 1 EOC Honors NC Math 2 Level 4 or 5 on NC Math 1 EOC Honors NC Math 3 Grade A or B on NC Math 2 NCFE

Science Earth/Environmental Science Honors Earth/Environmental Science Good class for someone who has not done honors level before but wanted to take an honors class Honors Biology 1 Level 5 on reading, math, and science 8th grade EOG & Level 5 on NC Math 1 EOC

Social Studies World History Honors World History High level of reading required Level 4 or 5 recommended on Reading EOG

Health & PE Required for graduation Depending on elective choice it will either be A/B or 4x4

Electives Take enough to total 8 courses Either going to be A/B or 4x4 ***If art, chorus, dance, or drama was taken in both 7th and 8th grade year then you can sign up for “intermediate” instead of “beginning”
