Assessment of 19 Southeast Alaska Communities

Craig has been identified as the proof of concept site to demonstrate the ability of Central Council of the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska to deploy affordable broadband as part of a nineteen community system.

Complete a fully engineered solution complete with material lists and obtain hard cost estimates from vendors and contractors for each phase, including local, backhaul and POP costs Insure all other local business such as Craig CATV has an opportunity to participate or establish a partnership if possible Obtain all necessary permits

TIA/EIA TSB-140 Tier 1 Testing – Tier 1 testing is to include the following: Attenuation with an OLTS, verification of cable length, and polarity.

1. Test CAT 5e cabling and verify connectivity to all end equipment to ISO/IEC AS and TIA/EIA-568-B.2-2 standards. 2. Individual testing of end user equipment to ensure correct operation, network configuration and user rights.
