THE MOTIVATION OF ADOLESCENT LEARNERS

The characteristics of motivated learners: Positive task orientation Ego involvement Need for achievement High aspiration Goal orientation Perseverence Tolerance of ambiguity

The teacher should: To give frequent, early, positive feedback To create an open and positive atmosphere To help students feel that they are valued members of a learning community To hold high but realistic expectations for your students

To be enthusiastic about your subject To when possible, let students choose what will study To vary your teaching methods To be specific when giving negative feedback To bring the tasks close to everyday life / students´ interests

The best way how to motivate the students is not to force them to pay attention but show them a good example – the teacher himself.

Thank you for your attention.
