Mēdēa amicītiā falsā fīliās Peliae cēpit dumque fābulam dē iuventūte Aesonis rēceptā nārrat, eīs spem dat parentem suum arte magicā revīvēscere posse.

Ut sit fidēs maior, Mēdēa guttur ovis ēnse secat et in aēnō corpus mergit. Subitō in mediō aēnō bālātus audītur et sine morā ēvenit agnus quī mātrem quaerit.

Pelias “Cūr nunc dubitātis?” ait Mēdēa “gladiīs ēmittite sanguinem ut sanguine iuventūtis corpus patris repleam.” In hōc modō Mēdēa fīliābus Peliae persuāsit ut patrem suum necārent.

Nisi pennātīs serpentibus in aurās īvisset, Mēdēa poenās nōn ēvītāvisset.

Fūgit alta super montēs et oppida usque Corinthum.

Quō in oppidō post multōs annōs Iāsōn alteram uxōrem quaerēbat Quō in oppidō post multōs annōs Iāsōn alteram uxōrem quaerēbat. Aesonidēs sē in mātrimōnium fīliam rēgis Corinthiī dūcere spērāvit ut (ita dīxit) prō Mēdeā et fīliīs duōbus domum tūtam faceret.

Mēdēa hanc iniūriam sine īrā nōn fert et fīliae rēgis vestimenta magica et corōnam cum venēnō mīsit

…quae vestimenta ignāra fīlia induit …quae vestimenta ignāra fīlia induit. Statim haec et pater quī eam servāre temptāvit per tōta corpora ardēbant.

Tum Mēdēa, rēgiā cremātā fīliīsque suīs ēnse suō necātīs, currū serpentibus pennātīs tractō arma et īram Iāsonis effūgit.

Athēnās et ad rēgiam Aegeī fūgit, quī anteā iūrāverat sē in omnibus perīculīs Mēdēam protēctūrum esse.
