Be Comforted

Christian hope looks forward to the resurrection (1 Thess. 4:13-14).
Hope means “expectation and confidence”.
For the believer there is no death.
The same power of God that raised Jesus from the dead will also raise believers in Jesus from the dead.
Christian hope looks forward to Christ’s return (1 Thess. 4:15-17).
For we say this to you by a word from the Lord: We who are still alive at the Lord’s coming will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep... 1 Thessalonians 4:15–17 CSB
For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the archangel’s voice, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first... 1 Thessalonians 4:15–17 CSB
Then we who are still alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:15–17 CSB
“Caught up” means “to snatch up, to seize, and to carry off by force”.
The Lord Jesus’ coming will be an open and public event.
Christian hope is full of comfort (1 Thess. 4:18)
Therefore encourage one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:18 CSB
The Lord does not delay his promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance... 2 Peter 3:9–12 CSB
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief; on that day the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, the elements will burn and be dissolved, and the earth and the works on it will be disclosed... 2 Peter 3:9–12 CSB
