Project Title: Chemical Identity Mask Project Summary: In this interdisciplinary project, students will create a two-sided identity mask.  On one side they represent their personal identity, as it is formed though their socialization by family, friends, and the media.  One the other side the student will choose a chemical element that they best feel represents their personality. Curriculum English Math Science  Media oral language strategies, writing processes, elements of visual/graphic texts, conventions, presentation techniques element properties and organization of the periodic table; electron arrangement impacts chemical nature Media production skills, virtual creation, organizing ideas to structure information Driving Question:  How are the concepts that define our identity structured?  How do they work together?  What trends and relationships exist?   Product: Chemical Identity Mask and written description Individual Responsibilities: Mask decoration and written component Team Responsibilities:  Protocols and mask creation Sharing: Gallery Walk Rubric: Will be created as a class Reflection: On your blog Core Competencies: Resources Needed: All supplies will be provided.
