Hobbes and Locke 2 views on Humanity State of Nature: This phrase refers to the natural state of man, how would mankind behave if they were allowed to be themselves without outside influence? Social Contract – This phrase refers to an unwritten agreement between people and their rulers/government. What are the people going to do for the government in exchange for the government protecting them? What responsibility does the government have to its citizens?
