Goal: This session will explore the philosophies, core values, and best practices used by Arizona SILC to create meaningful engagement opportunities for youth within the organization, and Independent Living movement. Topics: Recruitment and Retention of Youth Youth Engagement Planning Measuring Success Sustainability

Goal B Youth who have disabilities in Arizona learn about and access Independent Living services Objective B1 Coordinate the Arizona Youth Leadership Forum for Students and Transitioning Young Adults Who Have Disabilities Measurable Indicator Youth who have disabilities in Arizona gain Independent Living skills as they prepare for and transition to adult roles Activities B1.1: By July 2019, a minimum of 75 youth who have disabilities from across Arizona will graduate from Arizona Youth Leadership Forum   B1.2: In 2017, 2018, and 2019, Pre and Post Survey Data for 90% of Arizona Youth Leadership Forum Alumni will reflect increased awareness of Independent Living and disability resources B1.3: In 2017, 2018, and 2019, 75% of Arizona Youth Leadership Forum Alumni will report satisfaction with the Mentoring they have received during the first six months following graduation B1.4: In 2017, 2018, and 2019, 75% of Arizona Youth Leadership Forum Alumni will engage in activities to inform development of the State Plan for Independent Living  [M1]Corrected spelling  [M2]Capitalized Leadership  [M3]Corrected spelling

Maintenance of the Arizona Youth Leadership Alumni Association Objective B2 Maintenance of the Arizona Youth Leadership  Alumni Association Measurable Indicator Arizona Youth Leadership Forum and Arizona Youth Engagement Academy Alumni demonstrate leadership in the disability movement through Alumni Association meetings, activities, and initiatives Activities B2.1: In 2017, 2018, and 2019, 75% of Arizona Youth Leadership Forum and Arizona Youth Engagement Academy Alumni will join the Alumni Association   B2.2: In 2017, 2018, and 2019, 50% of Arizona Youth Leadership Forum and Arizona Youth Engagement Academy Alumni will follow and interact with the Alumni organization on social media, website or other methods during the first six months following graduation B2.3: In 2017, 2018, and 2019, 50% of Arizona Youth Leadership Forum and Arizona Youth Engagement Academy Alumni will participate in at least one Alumni association meeting or initiative B2.4: In 2017, 2018, and 2019, 50% of Arizona Youth Leadership Forum and Arizona Youth Engagement Academy Alumni will participate in at least one Alumni Association social activity or service project B2.5: By September 2019, 50% of total Alumni for the years 2014-2019 have participated in the planning or implementation of Arizona Youth Leadership Forum by serving on the Leadership Team, Alumni Association Executive Committee, Planning Committee, Delegate Selection Committee, as a Guest Speaker or Presenter, as a Mentor or Staff member

Objective B3 Support and maintenance of the Arizona Youth Engagement Academy Measurable Indicator Arizona youth who have disabilities contribute as leaders within the Arizona Independent Living Network Activities B3.1: By December 2019, a minimum of 15 youth who have disabilities will graduate from Arizona Youth Engagement Academy, an intensive training program designed to build capacity in youth to initiate and fulfill leadership roles within the disability movement B3.2: By September 2019, 50% of Arizona Youth Engagement Academy Alumni will provide self-determination training, coaching, or mentoring within an Arizona Center for Independent Living or other disability related organization   B3.3: By September 2019, 50% of Arizona Youth Engagement Academy Alumni will provide disability access and equality training within an Arizona organization that does not identify as disability centric B3.4: By September 2019, 25% of Arizona Youth Engagement Academy Alumni will facilitate Person-Centered Planning within an Arizona Center for Independent Living or other disability related organization B3.5: By September 2019, using the train-the-trainer approach, a minimum of 3 Arizona Youth Engagement Academy Alumni will facilitate the Arizona Youth Engagement Academy training program for a minimum of 5 additional youth

Objective B4 Provide for the long-term stability and success of Arizona Youth Leadership Forum and Arizona Youth Engagement Academy Measurable Indicator Creation of an independent nonprofit organization responsible for continued implementation, resource development, fundraising, and expansion of Arizona Youth Leadership Forum and Arizona Youth Engagement Academy Activities B4.1: By December 2016, a Board of Directors representing diversity in all aspects, and comprised of at least 51% youth who have a variety of disabilities will be established   B4.2: Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, and IRS 501(c)3 nonprofit organization application are developed and submitted B4.3: Conduct resource development activities to ensure that Arizona Youth Leadership Forum and Arizona Youth Engagement Academy are receiving at least 50% of funding from alternative sources in FY2019
