A net is also called a development. Nets A net is also called a development.

Nets A net is a two dimensional shape (2D) which when scored, folded and glued together forms a three dimensional (3D) package, carton or container.

Nets Making a net prototype (sample) helps you to see if: The packaging will work - ensuring that it fits together correctly. The print (information, product name, etc) will be the right way up once assembled.

Nets In industry nets are arranged on a sheet to minimise gaps between them (tessellation) this reduces the amount of waste. Die cutters are used to press out/cut out the net shape, while creasing bars create the fold lines.

Nets Nets are usually cut out and stored flat packed. The nets can be made up when required e.g. McDonalds Happy Meal boxes.
