The roles of the practice and academic assessor (NMC Webinar) Practice Supervisors: Any registered HCPC, NMC or GMC professional, continuity needed to measure student progress, can assess some skills / outcomes and will feedback to Practice Assessor on the student. Practice Assessor: NMC registered (not field specific/equivalent field experience),current and suitably prepared, must observe student in practice, assess and confirm achievement. Academic Assessor: Academic member of staff, NMC Registered. Same assessor for year one and three but a different one for year 2. Suitably prepared, supported, Not field specific. Collate and confirm achievement in practice in conjunction with PA to enable student to progress to next stage of the programme.

The aim of this webinar is explore the roles of the practice and academic assessor in more depth. I’ll be hosting the webinar along with my colleague, Rachel Mawby. We’ll give a brief overview of the relevant standards and their meaning and will then take questions from people on the webinar. Register for this webinar here. TEF – a government initiative to recognise, reward and improve teaching excellence in Uni’s across the UK. Assessed on teaching quality, learning environment and student outcomes/learning gain. UEA awarded gold but issues of subject level being based on graduate salaries causes issue e.g. nursing versus lawyers.
