Determine an author’s point of view or purpose in a text and analyze how the author acknowledges and responds to conflicting evidence or viewpoints.

What is author’s purpose? It is the author’s reason for writing

What are 3 common purposes for writing? Persuade Inform entertain

What is point of View? The position an author takes on a subject In other words, the opinion or perspective an author has on a subject.

What is bias? When an author is partial or favors a person, group, side over another in a controversy

What is an example of bias? Why would a medical doctor be in favor of vaccinating children? Write a response to this question.
