The project: Re@WBC Title: Enhancement of HE Research Potential Contributing to Further Growth of the WBC Region (Re@WBC) Duration: 2015-2018 Main goal: Towards the HR principles from The European Charter and Code for Researchers http://rewbc.ni.ac.rs

Partners: University of Niš, Serbia - coordinator University of Belgrade, Serbia University of Novi Sad, Serbia University of Kragujevac, Serbia University of Montenegro, Montenegro University of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina University of East Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina University of Vlora "Ismail Qemali", Albania University of Tirana, Albania Coventry University, United Kingdom University of Liege, Belgium Polytechnic University of Turin, Italia Center for the Promotion of Science, Serbia

Some of the main goals enhancing of human research potential and development of human resources; improving conditions for development of research and professional careers; developing support services for young and talented researchers; brain-gain through active participation in research activities; harmonisation of research space; regional cooperation through participation in the creation of the WBC regional science strategy; encouraging mobility.

WP1. Preparation for the HR research management reform Projected 1.1. Mapping research potential at WBC universities. 1.2. Mapping HR management strategies at EU universities. 1.3. Performing comparative analysis based on collected data. 1.4. Developing action plans for bridging identified gaps 1.5. Purchasing ICT equipment for HR offices and centers. Actual (achieved deliverables) 1.1. Questionnaire 1.2. Meetings and visits at EU partners 1.3. Comparative analysis carried out by UNI 1.4. Action plan developed by UV 1.5. Hardware ICT equipment purchased (software, not yet!!)

WP2. Excellent university for the researchers Projected 2.1. Creation and adoption of bylaws relevant for HR enhancement. 2.2. Training of WBC administrative staff related to research services 2.3. Seminar by EU and P1 partners on HRS4R strategy for UNI management. 2.4. Preparing and adopting HRS4R strategy at all WBC partner universities. 2.5. Training trainers by EU partners. 2.6. Revising and improving university by-laws regulating academic promotion procedures. 2.7. Plagiarism monitoring tools implementing 2.8. Enhancing of ethical committees through legislative improvements and trainings. 2.9. Establishing links with scientific diaspora by creating and updating databases. Actual (achieved deliverables) 2.1. Bylaws to be adopted (ongoing) 2.2. Training organized in Novi Sad 2.3. Seminar organized in Belgrade with WB university management 2.4. The UV work group has already developed an HRS4R strategy and resubmitted an application for “HR excellence in Research” label. 2.5. 4 trainings organized: Coventry, Belgrade, Liege, Turin 2.6. Bylaws to be adopted (ongoing) 2.7. Software to be purchased and implemented 2.8. Training in Kragujevac; bylaws to be improved 2.9. UV established NARD (Network of Albanian Researchers in the Diaspora)

WP3. Researchers trained on C&C and HRS4R Projected 3.1. Training of WBC researchers concerning the role and significance of C&C and HRS4R 3.2. Creating and updating of databases and web sites for better transparency and information flow 3.3. Research methodology training of WBC young researchers 3.4. Training of WBC young researchers in various skills 3.5. Teaching methodology training of junior academic staff 3.6. Developing a pilot mentoring system for newly promoted assistant professors 3.7 Raising awareness about the significance of multidisciplinary approach to research. 3.8. Preparing a guidebook for young researchers Actual (achieved deliverables) 3.1. 2 trainings organized by UV 3.2. Databases, links to be created 3.3. 2 seminars organized by UV 3.4. A two-day training to be organized on 12-13 Sept 2017 by EU partners at UV 3.5. Trainings to be organized at WB partner universities 3.6. Two external academic mentors have been appointed at UV, their roles and field of competences have already been defined by the Academic Senate. 3.7. Workshop to be organized 3.8. A guidebook in English is to be prepared and published intended for young researchers; UV has already finished its chapter.

Actual (achieved deliverables) WP4. Quality Projected 4.1. Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) established 4.2. Project quality standards, procedures and report templates developed 4.3. Internal quality reports delivered by WP leaders 4.4. Annual QA reports delivered by all partners 4.5. Reports analysed and conclusions made at QAC meetings 4.6. External monitoring carried out. Actual (achieved deliverables) 4.1. QAC established during the kick-off meeting. 4.2. QA Manual developed by the University of Montenegro and UNI. 4.3. Reports on the progress of WPs by partners. 4.4. Prepared and delivered by all partners. 4.5. Analysis by WP leaders. 4.6. External experts.

WP5. Dissemination and exploitation at Re@WBC Projected 5.1. Creating, maintaining and regularly updating project web-site 5.2. Designing and distributing project’s promotional material 5.3. Disseminating project’s results through various events and public appearances 5.4. Obtaining the label "HR Excellence in Research" by a number of WBC partner universities 5.5. Establishing of a sustainable system of awards for young researchers 5.6. Creating and adopting bylaws to regulate the Mentoring system 5.7. Creating and adopting University strategy for continual training of researchers Actual (achieved deliverables) 5.1. Completed by Nis and CPS 5.2. Ongoing 5.3. Project results disseminated in different activities not related with the project; 5 dissemination activities organized by UV 5.4. Application resubmitted by UV. 5.5. To be established. 5.6.
