Presentation transcript:

         D Engineering Drawings

1. General Drawings An engineering drawing that shows the overall design of an object Multiview and isometric

2. Exploded View An engineering drawing that show the different parts, or features, of an object (isometric) Name of each part, quantity, materials list, bill of sales

3. Detail drawing Specifies all details needed to make a part of an object Multiview

Details in engineering drawing Scale: relationship between the measurements of an object on a sheet of paper and the real measurements of the object Reduction (1:2)- drawing smaller than object Full Size (1:1)- same size as object Increase (2:1)- drawing bigger than original

Dimensioning Indicating the real dimensions of an object as well as the position of various elements

Tolerance: maximum variation of a specified dimension between a measurement on a drawing and real-life measurements

Cross-section Reveals interior of an object, exposing hidden details

Rules and Symbols See common rules p. 356 See common symbols p. 357 Design Plan- simplified drawing that represents one or more aspects of the functioning of an object (see p. 358) Technical diagram- simplified diagram that contains info. About the construction solutions for manufacturing an object or system (p. 359)
