Structural Steel Work

Structural Steel Work To address different steel connections as a part of steel structural work Three different types of connections as follows: 1- Base – to – column connections 2- Beam – to – column connections 3- Base – to – beam connections

Base – to – column connections The function of a base is to transmit the vertical loads as well as any possible bending moments into the foundation of the column. Column will combine with the foundation by means of a base plate. Foundation material is usually concrete.

Base – to – column connections Base plate can also be made to transmit forces by stiffening base plates with gussets as shown below
