The WISE Summit will explore how collaboration can become the driving force behind efforts to inspire innovation in education and to design long-term strategies for its renewal. Over 1,000 practitioners, decision makers and thought leaders from multiple sectors and more than 100 countries will come together, November 13 - 15, in Doha, Qatar, to share ideas under the theme “Collaborating for Change”. Attendees will participate in thematic plenary sessions, debates, collaborative workshops and focus sessions. Speakers from a wide variety of backgrounds will chair and moderate sessions exploring current educational challenges and highlighting innovative solutions. 27.08.2013 toomas kruusimägi

Conrad Wolfram: Stop Teaching Calculating, Start Learning Math … to calculate by hand in a world where even mobile phones can solve complex mathematical problems is no longer necessary; rather, education should focus on how math applies to the real world and on identifying the problems for which it can provide solutions. The plenary was followed by a compelling address by mathematician Conrad Wolfram, European Co-Founder and CEO of the Wolfram Group.
