By Grace Through Faith Ephesians 2:1-10

Not Of Our Works, But Of God's Grace No argument whether or not salvation is by grace (Eph. 2:8) Salvation is not by works of our own righteousness, but according to God's mercy (Titus 3:5) Are there other works in the realm of grace?

Abraham justified (saved) by works (James 2:21-23) These were works of faith in obedience to God's will (Heb. 11:8, 17-19) There is no sense in which the works Abraham did were "his own works" He did not appoint the journey He did not originate the sacrifice of his only son God asked for things from Abraham and with implicit trust he obeyed

We are urged to walk in the steps of Abraham's faith (Rom. 4:12) Peter declared salvation is for those who fear God and work righteousness (Acts 10:34-35) Paul preached in order to produce "the obedience of faith" (Rom. 1:5; 16:26) Obedience is not inconsistent with grace, but rather establishes grace (Rom. 6:15-18)

The Ephesians Were Justified By Grace Through Faith. The Ephesians had been baptized (Acts 19:1-5) In regard to this (Eph. 5:25-26) Sins washed away (Acts 22:16) Did/does this nullify grace?

Our faith is not in ourselves, but in God (Titus 3:5) It is "faith in the operation of God" (Col. 2:12) It is an appeal to God to be saved (1 Peter 3:21-22)
