Homework: Complete CA Study Guide & Finish reading the novel. ENGLISH 10 02/15-19/2019 Homework: Complete CA Study Guide & Finish reading the novel. Learning Target: Today I will analyze WW2 Political Cartoons and finish discussing the novel, so that I can identify and explain author’s purpose. I’ll know I have it when I have completed my OPTIC handout and collaborated with my peers.

Chapter 7 Why does Elie say, "there is no more reason to live, no more reason to struggle" when he wakes up to a snow covered, open cattle car? How is the passage describing the fight over a piece of bread in the open cattle car one of both horror and sadness? Explain. What camp do Elie and his father end up going to? (Page 98-103)

Chapter 8-9 What thoughts does Elie have concerning his father, and why does he feel ashamed? What is Elie's father dying of? What happens to Elie's father when he continues to ask for water? Why do the Germans decide to "liquidate" Buchenwald and evacuate the prisoners? What stops the final evacuation of the prisoners from the camp? What is the first act of the prisoners after the first Americans begin arriving? (Page 104-115)
