Directions (Source 2) While you read through the article, continue to fill in the bottom boxes of the template. Where any of your questions answered? Be sure to include the answers! (Left hand box) Does the podcast pose new questions for you? (Right hand box)

Quick Check-In At the bottom of your template, respond to the prompt “How are these two documents related?” Be sure to respond in a complete sentence!

For the next 25 min... As we work through the next four sources, it is important for you to continue creating questions. For each source, you will need to draft 4-5 new questions Guiding Question: What events led to the assassination of President Diem?

Source 3 - Domino Theory

Source 4 - Vietnamese Declaration of Independence Guiding Question: What events led to the assassination of President Diem?

Before moving on... Before moving on to our final two sources, reflect back on your original questions. Have any been answered through these two new documents? If so, write down their answers in the corresponding document box

Source 5 - Two Vietnams Guiding Question: What events led to the assassination of President Diem?

Source 6 - Geneva Accords

Going Further Look over all of your questions and put a star your top 3 most important questions. For homework, you are going to pick one of these (the most important one) and do some research. A minimum of 3 sentences is required for your response.

Storyboards! Working with your shoulder partner, you will create a storyboard that will answer the guiding question for our lesson: What events led to the assassination of President Diem? Each pair’s storyboard will include: Six panels containing an image/scene that describes an event that led to the assassination Six short and concise descriptions of your panel You must use each source once!

Some Suggestions It is much easier to draw the panels once you have figure out what your going to use from our sources. I suggest working together to go over the documents and get your sentences done FIRST. Then you can quickly create your drawings!
