Technical cooperation activities of the EFTA Statistical Office MGSC, Luxembourg 12 - 13 April 2018 Volker Täube

Outline Introduction: EFTA-ESO Technical Cooperation, Region I: Western Balkans, Turkey EFTA-ESO Technical Cooperation, Region II: ENP-East EFTA-ESO Technical Cooperation, Region III: ENP-South EFTA-ESO Technical Cooperation, Region IV: EECCA

Beneficiary Countries of EFTA-ESO's Technical Cooperation Legal Basis for technical cooperation is the Administrative Arrangement signed each time for three years (volume 2.1 Million Euros); currently AA 2017-2019 in place. ESO also coordinates and supports technical cooperation activities with the NSIs of its Member States (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland).

EFTA-ESO Technical Cooperation, Region I: Western Balkans and Turkey Statistical Training Courses (Data Modelling and Data Analysis, Dissemination / PC-Axis, Advanced Methods for Survey Samples etc.) STC in 2017: Training Course on Statistical Indicators (Swiss Federal Statistical Office) Study Visits (e.g. Norway / Turkey, 2014) Funding and/or co-organizing conferences / meetings (Panel Business Stats., Workshop CoP, SMS on Quality, etc.) 2018: Strategic Management Seminar on internal (NSI: GAMSO, GSBPM) and external (NSS) organisation.

EFTA-ESO Technical Cooperation, Region II: ENP-East Global Assessments 2018: GA Moldova (2nd mission), GA Belarus, GA Georgia Statistical Training Courses (Survey Sampling, Dissemination / PC-Axis, Administrative Registers, Conducting Business Surveys, etc.) STC in 2018: Combining Data Sources (EFTA, SSB Norway), Training Course on Data Analysis and Data Modelling - DADM (EFTA, FSO, Switzerland) Study Visits 2017: (Ukraine / EFTA Member States) Funding and/or co-organising Conferences / Meetings (Panel Business Stat., Workshop CoP, Workshop National Accounts, etc.) 2018: WS SNA 2008 (UNECE), Workshop on Human Ressources Management and Training, HRMT (EFTA, SSB Norway, UNECE)

EFTA-ESO Technical Cooperation, Region III: ENP-South Statistical Training Courses (Survey Sampling, Dissemination / PC-Axis, Administrative Registers, Price Statistics, Designing & Conducting Business Surveys etc.) 2017: Training course on Statistical Indicators (Swiss Federal Statistical Office) Peer Light Review, CoP (Palestine, 2012) Funding and/or co-organizing conferences / meetings (Workshop Migration Stats., etc.) 2018: WS on Consumer Price Indices, CPI (UNECE)

EFTA-ESO Technical Cooperation, Region IV: EECCA Countries (joint EFTA, Eurostat, UNECE activities) Global assesments / Peer Reviews Similar to ENP-East, plus 2017: GA Kazakhstan; 2018: PR Uzbekistan Statistical Training Courses (Survey Sampling, Dissemination / PC-Axis, Administrative Registers, Conducting Business Surveys, etc.) STC in 2018: Combining Data Souces (EFTA, SSB Norway), Training Course on Data Analysis and Data Modelling - DADM (EFTA, FSO, Switzerland) Funding and/or co-organizing conferences / meetings Similar to ENP-East 2018: SPECA (UNECE), WS SNA 2008 (UNECE), HRMT (EFTA, SSB Norway, UNECE). In addition to ENP East which is also part of ECCAS!
