Job Performance Requirement 16-13 Displacing a Dashboard

A Make certain that the vehicle is stabilized A Make certain that the vehicle is stabilized. Cribbing must be placed beneath the rear base of the front door jam on both sides of the vehicle.

B Relief cuts are placed 5 to 6 inches below the intersection of the front support at the rocker panel JPR 16-13B

C Relief cuts are also placed 8 to 10 inches back on the horizontal rocker panel on both sides of the vehicle. JPR 16-13C

D Hydraulic rams are inserted between the rear of the door jam and dashboard on both sides of the vehicle. The rams will both be extended at a steady and equal rate until enough room is available for patient removal. JPR 16-13D

E Firefighters will need to place cribbing in the lower relief cuts as the dashboard is folded over to maintain its position. JPR 16-13E
