EAST Paulding High School Local School Council Meeting 9/20/18

What is a School Council School Councils are policy-level advisory bodies to the principal. Advise and make recommendation on any matter related to school improvement and student achievement Bring schools and community closer in the spirit of cooperation to solve difficult education problems improve academic achievement, provide support for teachers and administration, Bring parents in to the school-based decision making process.

How is Business Conducted All meetings open to public Must meet 4 times per year Majority must be present to meet Meetings subject to Open Meetings Act & Open Records

Who serves on the School Council? Principal Two certified teachers (elected by teachers) Four parents (elected by parents, two must be business persons) With bylaws we may increase the members as long as the parents remain the majority. MUST BE TRAINED
