Introduction NIHR Clinical Research Network merged all cancer research networks with all other clinical research networks in England on 1st April 2014 CRN - West of England is one of 15 new networks This new geography does not map exactly to the site specific group geography. It now includes Gloucestershire and Swindon but no longer includes Taunton and Yeovil Activity for Taunton and Yeovil are included in this report for ease of reference Our main focus is the translation of NHS research strategy and the delivery of research to patients

Cancer specialty specific objectives NIHR CRN High Level Objectives Set up studies as fast as you can Recruit to the target you set in the time agreed Involve all organisations providing NHS care Include commercial and non commercial portfolio studies Cancer specialty specific objectives Recruitment overall at 20% cancer incidence Recruitment to interventional studies at 7.5% of cancer incidence Recruit to rare cancer studies and have a balanced portfolio

Discussion points Breast study recruitment is approx. a quarter of total cancer recruitment in the network this year Are there any studies on our current portfolio where cross referral or patients could be encouraged?
