Rules: Be on time!!!!!! No food, drinks or gum! (due to simulators!) No talking while teacher is talking. Must have permit or green envelope by Thursday!!! I will have a DMV person here 4th block Tuesday. Cost is thirty dollars cash. DMV is free however you will be dropped from class if you don’t have green envelope or permit by third day. Can only miss 3 days of class (9 weeks course!) Give me 20 days of perfect attendance. Your life will appreciate it. Study hall misses count as days missed for driver education. Suspensions will not be tolerated in the first twenty days of each quarter. If you are suspended you will be dropped! If you get ISS you can come to class one time. After that it will be counted as one of your three days. However two different incidents of ISS results in dropping of driver education.

Classroom section: 20 days of classroom: 80% of final grade 10 to 12 hours of simulator instruction. We will cover 8 to 10 PowerPoints. 2 or 3 guest speakers. Videos that are required by the State. There will be quizzes, daily work, and simulator performance grades. When I am absent there will be no substitute. You will report directly to study hall.

Driving Section of the Class Every student will drive twice. You must have your permit at all times. If you wear glasses, please bring them w/ you on the days you drive. If you are not driving, you must go to study hall. 20% percent of final grade

We will drive in neighborhoods, rural roads, city streets, and interstates. We will parallel park, do 3-point turns, backing, overnight parking and much more. If it rains, we may or may not drive. It will depend on how bad it is raining. We will always meet in this classroom before driving!! Everybody!!

Please don’t wear flip flops on your driving day. Please try not to miss on your driving day! Remember driving is a big responsibility and you have your life, your fellow classmates lives and my life in your hands. Also, if you aren’t driving, don’t make your fellow classmates nervous when you are driving. Remember your life is in their hands!

Hand out parent letter: Bring back tomorrow signed. Hand out parent checklist: make sure your parents use this to help you succeed. Parents are suppose to drive with you 40 hours before taking your license test. 30 daytime hours and 10 night time hours. Hand out folders: please put your name on the folder. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFxNb2XKRRU
