The State of CA Community Colleges -Decreases in funding -Emergence of accountability -MOOCs -Completion agenda -The Scorecard -MPC and the CCCs find themselves in an “environment that is effectively encouraging a diminishment of quality while asking for a product of demonstrable value”. -Michelle Pilati, former ASCCC President

What we must do Act as a team Demonstrate the value of an MPC education Use SLOs to demonstrate What MPC students learn The degree to which they’ve learned it How the institution has endeavored to improve Integrate the expertise and experience of MPC adjuncts into the reflections process

Instructor and Program Reflections -Promote improvement of student learning -Ensure that MPC meets accreditation standards -Accountability -Communication to interested stakeholders -Re-introduction of Instructor Reflections -Ensures that all courses and programs are covered. -Combination of quantitative and qualitative information tells the strongest story about how MPC students do in courses and programs. -Enables informed decisions for what we do in our classrooms and programs. -Will form fundamental evidence for next accreditation self-evaluation.
