Perimeter The perimeter of a closed figure is the total measure of the boundry. Rahman is a farmer. He has to fence his field What length of the barbed wire I should buy to fence my field? The answer is, I should buy 8 m + 12 m +10 m + 4 m = 34 m barbedwire.

? Example 1: Find the Perimeter We have one side missing. We have to find it before we can find perimeter. 6cm 11cm 2cm 4cm 5cm ? 5cm In the 11 cm side , a part of the line is 6cm since opposite side is 6cm The remaining side of 11 cm is 11 cm – 6cm = 5cm 6cm Hence opposite side which is the missing side = 5cm Since we have found all side we can now we can find the perimeter Perimeter = Adding all the sides of the above shape = 2 + 5 + 4 + 6 + 6 + 11 = 34 cm

Therefore missing side is 2cm + 5cm + 2cm = 9 cm Since we have found all side we can now we can find the perimeter
