Community Advisory Boards Voice of the communities Community Advisory Boards for the Kaiser Permanente Research Bank (KPRB) represent the voice of the communities Kaiser Permanente serves. The CABs provide a diversity of input on a wide range of issues related to the KPRB’s role in public health. Within all regions, KP members and non-members are represented, as are the voices of advocacy, environmental and community-based health groups, community leaders, social safety-net providers, labor and public health organizations, academic institutions, and others. Composition and Purpose of CABs 16 members on the National CAB = 2 community representatives from all 8 KP regions ~10 - 12 members on the Regional CABs = representatives from KP Southern CA, KP Mid-Atlantic States (KP Northern CA has a legacy CAB on hold) NCAB provide input on: strategic planning such as national recruitment strategy, including underrepresented minorities in research, education and informed consent, to name a few. RCABs provide input on raising awareness of the KPRB at a regional level, raise awareness about community issues, conduit for raising local concerns to the program leadership and NCAB.
