Presentation transcript:

Mathematics - Overview 7 lessons a fortnight Pupils are setted from their KS2 results, 3 sets in each half of the year. Homeworks are set twice a week. Key assessments take place 4 times a year, first one will be in weeks 6-7. Regular movements take place after key assessments.

Assessment Pupils will sit an assessment every ten weeks After each assessment pupils will set targets for that term based on their performance Subsequent homeworks will then be set to address their targets Pupils will complete their “flightpath” after every assessment to check if they are on track to achieve their target level at the end of the year

Marking of Books Homeworks are marked each time they are set Classwork is marked every few weeks and the department uses the www and ebi system (What Went Well and Even Better If). This gives a positive comment and a target to help further improve Pupils are given time to respond to the teacher’s comments in the follow up lesson

The golden ticket… Raffle tickets will be awarded for high levels of presentation and working out. A draw will be made every term per year group to win Trafford Centre vouchers.

Mathematics - Homework Set twice a week, sometimes on www.mymaths.co.uk, or Moodle or a worksheet Pupils are given a few days to complete the homework task. If they are struggling they need to find their class teacher BEFORE the homework is due in.

Moodle Worksheets are on Moodle organised into terms and levels. Past papers and revision lists are also available to promote independent learning. A maths forum is often used as a networking site for problem solving and sharing solutions. Specific area for Gifted and Talented mathematicians
