Project # 12 – Smart Walker REU student: Christopher Feltner Graduate mentors: Sharare Zethabian and Siavash Khodadadeh Faculty mentor(s): Dr. Turgut and Dr. Bölöni Week 7 (June 25 – June 29, 2018) Accomplishments: Identified a method to find obstacles using point clouds Configured Point Cloud Library Completed functions for creating a Voxel Grid and for a pass-through filter Wrote code to interface with Kinect and grab point clouds directly from device with OpenNi Turned 20! Problems & Solutions: Couldn’t build walker because of waiting for components Components arrived Thursday Plans for next week: Construct walker Finish point cloud software Test!
