Definitions HIV- HIV interferes with your body's ability to fight the organisms that cause disease AIDS- a disease in which there is a severe loss of the body's cellular immunity, greatly lowering the resistance to infection and malignancy.

WHAT IS THE VIRUS AND HOW DOES a VIRUS PRODUCE? A virus is an infective agent that typically consists of a nucleic acid molecule in a protein coat, How A virus produces Once attached to a host cell, a virus injects its nucleic acid into the cell.

Where did aids/ hiv come from? HIV first began to spread along the historic trade routes of the Congo basin in the 1920s.

How is it contracted? HIV is a virus that infects people by getting inside their blood cells.

How to prevent it To prevent aids, avoid bodily fluids from someone who is infected from entering your body from anywhere, even cuts.

Where was the first recorded case? in the us? The first known case of HIV is from a blood sample taken in 1959 from a man living in what is now Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The first case was not in the U.S. but in the democratic republic of Congo. This man was the first incident of aids/hiv recorded

What are the symptoms People with aids won’t know right away whether they have it or not. It could take years before they know they have it. The first 2-4 weeks after being infected with HIV, you may feel feverish, achy, and sick. Once you have HIV, you can give it to other people — whether or not you have symptoms or feel sick.

How long does it take to develop Hiv and aids can take up to 10 years to show symtoms The symptoms might show up right away or it could take years, it all depends.

How many people have died worldwide from aids? since 2017 there was been about 35 million deaths from AIDS worldwide

How many people are infected worldwide As of 2017, approximately 36.9 million people are living with HIV globally.

How many have died in the us? Approximately 658,507 people in the United States with an AIDS diagnosis have died overall.
