Presentation transcript:

Project # 8 - Internet of Hospital Things (IoHT): Communicating to Facilitate Healing REU student: Stefanie Mutter Graduate mentors: Myungho Lee, Kangsoo Kim Faculty mentor(s): Dr. Gerd Bruder, Dr. Greg Welch Week 1 (May 14 – May 21, 2018) Accomplishments: Read NSF Proposal for Research with Augmented Reality Agents with Pervasive Awareness, Appearance, and Abilities Read Kangsoo Kim’s paper (submitted to ISMAR 2018) on The Influence of Visual Embodiment and Social Behavior on the Perception of Intelligent Virtual Agents in AR Was introduced to technology used in the lab such as Unity and Microsoft HoloLens Brainstormed with Dr. Bruder on possible research projects to pursue throughout the course of the summer Problem & Solutions I haven’t worked with Unity or the Microsoft HoloLens before, so I’m starting from the very beginning, which makes it a very slow process. Plans for next week: Continue getting familiar with Unity and HoloLens Develop/solidify a plan for research project Begin modifying Kangsoo’s code for initial research project NSF REU Research Experience on Internet of Things 2018
