Adverbs often end in -ly Example : slowly, quickly, cautiously, hurriedly etc

Adverbs do not have a fixed position. They can be placed: 1.After a verb-The turtle crawled slowly along. 2. Before a verb- The turtle slowly crawled along. 3. At the beginning of a sentence- Slowly the turtle crawled along. 4. At the end of a sentence- The turtle crawled along slowly.

The word ‘not’ is always an adverb. It gives the verb the opposite meaning. e.g Vikram has left for Mumbai. Vikram has not left for Mumbai.
