How to save water in the home By thinking carefully about how much water you use at home and changing some water-wasting habits, it is easy to save water. ★ Wash vegetables and fruit in a bowl rather than under a running tap, and use the leftover water for watering house plants. ★ Take shorter showers. Shorter showers will not only save water but also reduce your water heating costs.

★ Put your cotton wool and tissues in a waste bin rather than flush them down the toilet. ★ A dripping tap can waste up to 4 litres of water a day. Replace broken tap washers for a quick and cheap way of saving water.

★ Wash with a full load(满载).Make sure you use your washing machine correctly and that you adjust (调节) the water level to suit the size of your load, or better wait until you have a full load. Do you know any other ways to save water in the home?
