TAG Drills 2 – Line Race Set Up 2 teams of any size – suggest no more than 7 a side All players wearing TAG belts Each team lines up, in single file, 2 paces between each line (like a line out) Name teams ‘Team 1’ and ‘Team 2’ etc (bibs optional) Provide whole of one team with a ball each

TAG Drills 2 – Line Race Action Coach calls ‘GO’ Team 1 runs towards goal line to score a try Team 2 chases opposite player and attempts to take TAG Stop once all Team 1 have reached try line or been tagged Count tries scored and keep a tally for end result

Team 1 runs to score a try before getting tagged by team 2 TAG Drill 2 – Line Race Try Line Team 1 runs to score a try before getting tagged by team 2 Team 1 Attack Coach calls ‘GO’! Team 2 Defence

TAG Drill 2 – Line Race Drill Aims Defence Attackers Tagging practice Speed Attackers Ball carrying in 2 hands Correct try scoring technique (2 feet, 2 hands) Can bring in direction but drill works best if attackers run in straight line
