Topics Covered in Math 2 (cont.) Circles Area and Volume Advanced Functions Factors and Roots

Homework and Grading Homework checked daily for effort (all attempted = 3, incomplete = 2, or 1) Bonus homework assigned occasionally for option to work towards a 4 Homework is posted on the website as well as a description of the topic covered in class Tests, Quizzes, Projects – given throughout and graded for: Knowledge & Accuracy – How accurate is the student’s work? Problem Solving – Does the student try different approaches? Does the student make connections to prior knowledge and apply it to new problems? Mathematical Communication – How does the student organize/present work? Can the student explain rationale?

High School Credit Students enrolled in Math I, Math 1b, Math II, Math III will receive high school credit. The percentage grade is determined using the following process: Test/Project – 60%, Quiz – 30%, Daily – 10% The final grade will be found using the formula: Average of the four quarter percentage grades * 80% + Final Exam Grade * 20% Students that have a final grade below 70% will not receive high school credit for the course and will be required to repeat the course.
