Where’s the Housing Campaign Solution: Where’s the Housing Campaign WTH aims to build a network of young advocates for housing across the region. #letuslivehere

Young Professionals → Young Advocates What’s the big idea? Young Professionals → Young Advocates Whose else is in this space? What are the main differences? Currently unclear path for many young professionals to become young advocates Few groups focused specifically on issues facing young professionals Sustained engagement Education Empowerment

A Day Without Young People How Does it Work? Phase One Phase Two Pop-Up Presence: Guerilla Marketing: A Day Without Young People “Going Away Party” We will build and maintain presence at regional events such as: farmers markets, Astoria Rent Cheque event, Goddamn Millennials Stand-Up, Vancouver Mural Festival to build network and support advocacy “Missing Persons” posters Craigslist housing posts for ridiculous housing offers: ex: “3 month stay in my bathtub” for room rentals in closets etc. to advertise for event Rubbermaid-container “houses” around the city Umbrellas with housing facts seen from above Our main event in which young people in Vancouver wear pins to symbolize their importance in this city. From baristas to businessmen, Vancouver millennials are the foundation of our city. We hope this day will raise awareness on how crucial this demographic is. We hope to finish up the day with a “going away party” for all the millennials who cannot afford to keep living this way… Or else! This party will be a place to socialize and encourage people to join our advocacy program
