Stress

What is stress ? Stress is a way of your body responding to danger or a threat. When you sense danger, the body automatically goes into a “fight or flight” reaction. Stress is a way of your body protecting you, like in work it makes you more focused or energetic. In emergences stress can save you.

What causes stress? Everyone has different stress triggers , like busy with school or work, big life changes, death of a loved one, relationship problems. Anything that is a major change in your daily life or too much work.

Tips for stress Mind stress- accept you cannot control everything, do you’re best, keep a positive attitude. Body stress- limit caffeine and pop, eat well balanced foods, get enough sleep, exercise a lot. Action- take deep breaths, take a time out, talk to someone, give back to you’re community, get help online.

Types of stress Physical- manual labor, lack of sleep and travel Chemical- drugs, alcohol, caffeine and environmental pollutions. Mental- perfectionism, worry, anxiety, long work hours Emotional- anger, guilt, loneliness, sadness, fear Nutritional- food allergies, vitamin and mineral deficiency Traumatic- injuries or burns, surgery, illness, infections, extreme temperatures
